What is everyone paying for babysitters?

How about for a day care?

In our area daycare is running around $125/week. For infants it is slightly more. It is a lot different from 10 years ago when I paid $75/week!! For a babysitter to come to our house it runs $5-10 an hour. Needless to say we dont go out much!

where I am in VA,

we pay for our 2 yoa 117.00/week for daycare (as an infant he was 138.00/week)

At home babysitters, we have a highschool senior that charges 4.00/hr and 2 middle school girls (they come together but charge for only 1 of them) 3.50/hour.

it runs from $180 to $275 a week for 3 year olds
and some do not even incl. lunch, never mind b'fast :(

here for my 2yr old & 5yr old its 3.50 an hr for both & thats about the cheapest I have found thier are some here that charge alot more

here in texas (frisco/dallas area) the infant room is $195 a week!!!! (might explain why i'm a sahm!)--then it decreases about $20 a week for each year older (12-24 months, 175---24-36 months, 155---etc.). and this is typical of all daycares in the area (i used to work at one before my baby).

for babysitting though, i would say if it were someone older and with experience, we always paid and got paid around $8-$10 per hour.

Here in our state the minimum wage was just raised to around $7.00 an hour. I wonder if you gals find you are paying minimum wage or above to your babysitters?
