Hi girls,need your expert advice.
My dd is 3 and started to go to the daycare. Of course, she is sick all the time with flu, virus, you name it L. Lately she had real bad throat and pedi gave her some antibiotics and 2 diff. medicines for something that they call ‘wheezing”. It gotten better 90%, but when I look at her throat it is not red any more, but the glands are still lumpy. Dr told us that virus throat clears usually within 2-3 weeks. Is that how your kids throats are? We are not giving any medicine any more, only gave all 3 medicines for 5 days, but now it is 2nd week and still not cleared 100%.
Please help.
Do you give them anything to clear that lumpy throat? We were worried that she might need those glands out
Need your advise.

At first sign of sore throat I gargle with just water or salt water. Then gargle with water throughout the day to keep the throat clean and what's irritating it off it. Be sure to gargle before going to bed.

My daughter has HUGE tonsils, a 4 on a 5 scale! We are always down with throat issues! LOL

Salt water gargle, as mentioned, is best to bring swelling down and to clean the throat.
1 cup warm water with 1 teaspoon salt mixed in. Gargle and repeat every hour or as needed.

A teaspoon of honey and a teaspoon of vinegar mixed together and given as medicine might help. Both fight germs and soothe the throat.

Drink plenty of water and avoid sugar, dairy products and breads which make phlegm more productive and can slow healing.

Also, nasal drip running down the back of the throat irritates it, so it may take awhile for the sinuses to dry up prolonging a sore throat.
