Hi girls,
i really need your help
my little one, she is 33 month and we thought she was almost potty trained, well, except a few accidents here and there. All of a sudden she stopped having bm every day, now it is 1 in 3-4 days and she has nothing different to eat, nothing different happended in her life, she has no pain and seems o'k with doing it.
What do i do?
she does drink milk, but she never had any problems before.
Not sure what to do and i do not really want to give her any medication for that.
We do give her now prune (2nd stage gerber) in the morning with breakfast, but like i said nothing is happening.
thnaks alot
waiting for your replys
regards,
laan

with the bm's. he would go 4-5 days, then he would get "butt candy"-childrens suppository. My nephew just started this also--he is 3. As soon as my sister inserted it, he had the "feeling"....of course, that was the first thing out, but then he did have a bm. My son used to have no problems, then when he went like 4 days w/o one, it hurt him to come out. He remembered that and would hold it and hold it....He now has no problems, has a bm every day, and now even (thank gosh) wipes himself. I would definitely contact your doctor or nurse to get their opinion. Don't let it wait until it hurts, cause that is the beginning of the cycle.

HTH and good luck--to you both!!
Leslie

My son had this problem when he was younger...I had to use colace for him...You can get it in liquid or in capsules... Also the doctor told me to give him Uncle Sam's Cereal for breakfast and also bake breads and things with that cereal... The colace did help...Maybe you should call your ped and ask them for advice and they can give you something to help... *S*, Rebekka

3 . "My son went thru this too"

He's 15 now & the main thing is for them to drink plenty of plain water. My son's still not a big water drinker but he at least goes now every other day versus 4-5 days. We had to take a couple of trips to ER due to bad stomach aches & he ended up getting a Fleets. Each time, the dr. said, "more water". It was hard to get my son to understand he needed to drink more but it finally sunk in when he realized it was alot more regular & not nearly as big or hard during the summer when he was in baseball. The coaches only allow water in the dugouts so no choice & it worked! :)
Also, try to keep an eye out to make sure your daughter's not trying to hold it when she feels the urge. I caught my son standing right next to the bathroom door a couple times purposely trying to hold it. Why, I don't know but it drove me nuts. After a couple of those trips to the ER, it changed his tune about that too. lol
